“Musically Yours” A Tribute to Phyllis Hyman & Al Jarreau feat: Robbie Cunningham and Vivian Taylor appearing at The Tin Pan in Richmond, VA

Born, educated, raised in SE Washington DC. Sang with several different choirs the Washington Performing Arts Society from 1987- current. Graduated from Ballou, BA of Arts and Sciences Music Classical Vocal Performance, minor Education, Master of Fine Arts Vocal performance, Master of Art Music Conduction and composition Howard University. Memeber of the 100 top college vocalists of America. 2001 and 2002 Class. Master classes by Kathleen Battle. Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha,Inc. Married mother of 3. Background artist to Queen Latifah, Beyoncé 2005 Kennedy Center Honors, AL Greene, Rahsaan Patterson, Melissa Etheridge, Yolanda Adams.

Cast member in Rent on Broadway in New York. Seasons 2005-2008. Member of the Washington Opera, Current member of the DeMoine ,Iowa traveling opera company. Classical vocalist around the world!!

Having shared the stage as a vocalist across the country and abroad with top artists such as Keith Sweat, Glenn Jones, Will Downing, Mary Mary, Richard Smallwood and the incomparable Patti LaBelle.

A self-proclaimed “eclectic musician”, Robbie describes himself “a composite of all the music I have ever experienced.” A self taught singer/songwriter Robbie has been singing and playing since the age of 5, in the church, he paid close attention to everyone from Daryl Coley to Donny Hathaway to Miles Davis and Earth, Wind & Fire. No strange to the recording industry Robbie’s first recording in 1990, under the name “Robbie Mychals,” yielded two R&B singles “Can’t Get Enuff Of U” and “One Mile From Paradise” which featured BOYS TO MEN on background vocals and reached the Top 20 of Billboards Top 100 R&B. Also releasing a creative instrumental collaboration under the pseudonyms “JazzimatroniX” and “1620”
